In centralized cooperative spectral sensing, cognitive radios sense spectrum bands and send data to a fusion center for detecting, more accurately, idle portions. In practice, such data are quantized before to be sent, which can bring performance loss due to distortion. Among other advantages, the new detector (Gerschgorin radii and centers ratio, GRCR),...

This work aims to investigate the use of CSRR (Complementary Split Ring Resonator) structures in the ground plane of microstrip antennas, for use in 4G/LTE wireless systems in the 2.5 GHz band. Two geometries for the radiating elements of the antennas, the circular and the rectangular, were used. Some initial equations were used to design the CSRR...

In this paper we perform a comparative study of four restoration algorithms, taking into account scenarios for all-optical networks and translucent optical networks. The results obtained can help a network designer in their decisions-making. For example, it is possible to propose an infrastructure that has an average cost and a high survivability capacity.

This work proposes an experimental coverage evaluation of a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) connected with Radio-over-Fiber (RoF) network operating as system backhaul that can be implemented in WSN under the Internet of Things (IoT) context. The RoF is assembled in a bus topology and has a radio repeater for signal distribution to the WSN. Impairments...

This development paper intends to assist the evolution of digital terrestrial TV signals in Brazil by increasing
the quality of reception in distant areas of large centers. Aiming
at this, we illustrate the construction of a cognitive tracking
electronic system in real time, suitable to receive the waves of
the signals of digital terrestrial TV, by...

Wireless Ad Hoc Networks are increasingly stringent when it comes to reliability during data exchange. A factor that is directly connected with that is the method assumed by the network routing protocol, which can influence positively or not depending on the application. In this way, this article presents the results of studies carried out with three...

convolucionados. O...
