Abstract
In centralized cooperative spectral sensing, cognitive radios sense spectrum bands and send data to a fusion center for detecting, more accurately, idle portions. In practice, such data are quantized before to be sent, which can bring performance loss due to distortion. Among other advantages, the new detector (Gerschgorin radii and centers ratio, GRCR), showed being robust in practical scenarios, e.g., under the effect of dynamical and/or non uniform noise, however it was not tested under the effect of the quantization. This paper does this analysis and show that the GRCR is also robust in this scenario. Results show that uniform quantization can be preferred in some cases.
