Resumo

The use of 1-bit analog-to-digital converters with temporal oversampling at the receiver has emerged as a solution for energy-constrained wireless systems with increased spectral efficiency. The corresponding receivers consume less energy and have a simpler hardware architectures compared to their high-resolution counterparts. Zero-crossing modulation implies that the information is conveyed in the time-instances of the zero-crossings. Different to existing methods the proposed zero-crossing precoding method takes into account imperfect channel state information. Its performance is evaluated numerically by using bit error rate and the average mean square error of the received signal. The results show that the proposed robust MMSE-based space-time precoding approach yields noticeable performance gains.
