Resumo
This study investigates the effects of nonlinearities in analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) and digital-to-analog converters (DACs) in an in-band full-duplex broadband power line communication (BB-PLC) system employing a digitally controlled analog interference cancellation (DCAIC) architecture with a normalized least mean squares (NLMS) adaptive filter for channel estimation. Numerical results based on measured PLC channels show that the DCAIC architecture is less sensitive to converter impairments than digital interference cancellation (DIC). Nevertheless, the results also reveal that DCAIC is still unable to effectively suppress nonlinear distortions, indicating that nonlinearity mitigation remains a major challenge that must be addressed in the design of IBFD BB-PLC systems.
