Abstract
The fading channel parameters vary according to the propagation environment, a fact known and reported in the literature. It is evident that this variation directly impacts the performance of the system. Previously, we investigated the effect of the stochastic variation of the imbalance parameter η of the complex model η-μ Format 2 for μ = 1/2, i.e., Hoyt. In this article, we will investigate the effect of varying the parameter κ of the Rice distribution, using the exponential distribution for that purpose. With this assumption, the resulting first-order statistics are accurately deduced, namely: (i) the probability density function (PDF) and the cumulative distribution function (CDF) for the envelope and phase; (ii) the generalized envelope moments. It is shown that the variability of this parameter, on average, tends to soften its effects on the resulting statistics.
