Abstract
The efficient management of equipment in modern industry is enabled by the use of industrial control applications to collect and manage data. With the integration of information technology into operational technology, there is a significant increase in network infrastructure and the possibility of vulnerabilities emerging. This paper presents an evaluation of the impact of the zero-trust security architecture in industrial plants, using metrics such as latency, jitter, and network throughput. The preliminary results suggest that zero trust enables more stringent control in the network operation and may present a tiny impact in the response time, consume computational resources, and network performance.
