Abstract

"The wireless networks represent a new computing paradigm that has as main function to provide the users permanent access, independently of his physical location. With the decrease of the portable devices costs and the increase of its capacity appeared a new concept called ad hoc network, where the communication is made directly among the mobile computers. In this paper is doing the proposal, implementation and validation of a mechanism based on bandwidth management principle to QoS guarantee in ad hoc wireless networks. For that, a software is developed to simulate ad hoc environments, making the connections following the approach of the proposed mechanism. Several experiences were accomplished, proving the advantages of the method: it guarantees better use of the transmission channel, at the same time that it accepts larger amount of connections."
