Abstract
The rise of the Internet of Things brings an important new concept: The Low Power Wide Area Networks (LPWAN). These systems are featured with high range, low power, low bit rate and low energy consumption. In this paper, we evaluate the limits and the performance of the LoRa communication, which is a promising LPWAN technology. Due to a small number of studies that discusses Lora's performance in a hybrid environment, this paper wants to evaluate the performance of a LoRa network in a building that has outdoor and indoor properties, located at the University of Brasília.
