Abstract
In this article is presented a mathematical analysis, corroborated by simulation, of a SNR estimation process using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov goodness of fit test. The model of discrete-time signal samples observed at the output of a matched filter at the receiver is composed of a term referring to the information signal affected by Nakagami fading and a term composed of additive Gaussian white noise. It is verified, by means of the normalized mean square error and the mean of the estimates that the method discussed is a good option for SNR estimation techniques when reduced amount of observed samples is desired.
