Abstract
This paper addresses the reception of UWB symbol in an impulsive UWB PLC system. Regarding this topic, it is introduced the use of the Delta-Rule-Delta technique together with the SM concept to decrease the computational complexity of Reduced-Rank Adaptive Filter. Performance analyzes reveal that both proposed techniques together with set-membership concept can result in substantial improvement ( computational complexity, bit error rate and convergence rate), when they are compared with previous approaches. The performance results are carried out on indoor PLC channels corrupted by the presence of AWGN noise. Finally, a computational complexity analysis shows that the proposed techniques for adapting the coefficients of the Reduced-Rank Adaptive Filter offer the lowest complexity in term of number of multiplications and additions and highest convergence rate.
