Abstract

This paper introduces an analytical formulation for the outage probability of a cooperative communication system using OFDM with a fixed decode-and-forward (DF) relay, assuming that both source and relay make use of nonlinear power amplifiers (PA). We consider a receiver that exploits the signal received directly from the source as well as the the signal transmitted through the relay. The presented analysis of the nonlinear effects due to the power amplifiers applies to any kind of memoryless amplifier. The proposed outage probability model is validated by means of computer simulations in different scenarios.
