Abstract

Skin detection has been used in many applications, in some of them, it was necessary a pre-processing to identify human skin in them. Therefore, a robust validation it is required to turn the algorithm reliable. In this work, it is shown an application of a skin detection method for coloured images, which is performed using probabilities provided by colour histograms, furthermore, the performance of the classi fi er is evaluated. The proposed algorithm was validated in two databases, and the results of the area under the ROC curve were greater than 0,9.
