Abstract

This article presents a crowdsourcing system developed to measure parameters of cellular networks through user’s smartphones, using an application based on Android Operating System and on a remote server platform to run calculations and aggregate the obtained data. Due to the difficulty of mapping issues in cellular networks, the proposed system aims to be an online and transparent tool for users and operators in order to help not only the customer to choose their service provider, but also to provide useful analyzes to operators that may contribute to the improvement of cellular coverage.
