Abstract
This paper describes the implementation and evaluation of a low-cost solution for real-time indoor tracking. It is based on a simple pedometer approach that uses data collected from sensors (accelerometers and compass) that are built-in on mobile devices to provide indoor tracking. A mobile application is used to display the indoor tracking outputs through an interactive user-interface (UI). Evaluation experiments of the system are carried out using Nokia mobile phones in a real indoor office scenario. Results are discussed showing the potential usability of our system. Further works will be focused on the accuracy improvement of our approach with the use of data filtering and interference reduction strategies.
