Abstract
The analysis of linear dynamical systems has at- tracted interest in recent years, since it allows the obtaining of unobservable information from these systems, through tools such as phase space reconstruction. The electrocardiogram signal represents a time series, a behavior describes a trajectory in the phase space. The analysis of this trajectory using the box counting method allows the identification of ventricular tachy- cardia in electrocardiogram signals. In the developed algorithm, parameters such as delay time, block size and thresholds were varied to look for the best performance in the analysis of the MIT- BIH arrhythmia database and the Ventricular Tachyarrhythmia Database of Creighton University. For the first bank, the best performance showed sensitivity and specificity of 75% and 52,94%, respectively for a delay of 0,5 s and block size 40 × 40. In the second bank these values were 71,42% and 100% for the same delay, but block size 5 × 5.
