Análise Experimental de uma Solução baseada em RoF para Sistemas Repetidores de TV digital

This paper reports an experimental analysis of using radio over fiber (RoF) technology, based on external modulation, to improve performance of on-channel repeater (OCR) systems aimed for digital television (DTV) broadcasting. Such approach mitigates interference from coupling loop wave commonly found in OCRs. It is protocol-independent, requires no remote upconversion, and supports multiple communication standards. Results show modulation error ratio (MER) above 42 dB at the repeater station, with minimal degradation (less than 1 dB) after 25-km optical link.
