A Ray Tracing-Based Approach for Generation of Non-Stationary V2V Channels

Sávio Bastos, Bruno Castro, Aldebaro Klautau

Resumo

Investigating Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) networks requires models that reflect physical road traffic behaviors. Standard models assume vehicles travel at constant speeds, omitting the effects of acceleration and braking. This paper presents a method connecting discrete ray-tracing environment data with continuous vehicular movement. By applying a polynomial phase rotation over short time intervals, the model captures the time-varying mobility of both accelerating vehicles and moving scatterers. Simulation results demonstrate the physical effects of this approach: vehicular acceleration induces continuous frequency smearing in the Doppler Power Spectral Density (DPSD) and generates power variations in the Power Delay Profile (PDP).
