Color Crosstalk and Gamma Distortion in Space-Time-Color Screen-to-Camera Communications

Resumo
Screen-to-camera (S2C) communication is a promising solution for low-cost optical wireless links using commercial displays and cameras. However, hardware non-idealities, such as color crosstalk and gamma nonlinearity, are present in practical screen-camera systems and remain poorly investigated in terms of link performance. This paper incorporates these impairments into a third-order parallel factor (PARAFAC)-based model for multi-color S2C links. Color crosstalk appears as a multiplicative matrix affecting one decomposition factor, while gamma distortion acts nonlinearly on the other factors. Simulations show that crosstalk causes an SNR penalty, gamma alters SER decay, and their combined effect limits high-SNR performance.
