Indoor Receiver Localization using Low-Cost mmWave Wi-Fi Radio and RGB Image Fusion

Resumo
Receiver (Rx) localization in indoor scenarios is useful for empowering management pipelines and digital twin systems, among others. For this, many methods exist that leverage radio information such as carrier frequency and/or channel state information (CSI), as well as sophisticated multimodal data, for instance, Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR), depth cameras and/or radars. However, significant amounts of resources must be invested to obtain this additional information. In this work we leverage easily available Received Signal Strength (RSS) data, alongside RGB camera imagery to provide reasonable estimations of a Rx localization inside an in-laboratory indoor scenario setup.
