Abstract
Optimizing the positioning of Power Beacons (PB) plays a fundamental role in the amount of energy harvested by Internet of Things (IoT) devices in wireless energy transfer (WET) systems. Therefore, in this work, a novel solution based on Genetic Algorithms (GA) is proposed to maximize the total energy harvested by the IoT devices by optimizing the position of multiple PBs considering only the statistical channel state (SCSI) knowledge at the PBs. The results obtained demonstrate that even considering only SCSI knowledge at the PB, the proposed solution achieves an increase of more than 95% in the total energy harvested by IoT devices. Furthermore, it was verified that the proposed solution achieves a performance close to the case with perfect knowledge of the CSI (PCSI, Perfect CSI) at the PB.
