"The purpose of this work is to present the use of XML (eXtensible Markup Language) and WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) technologies in the context of networks and systems management, trying to solve problems related to data presentation. In parallel to presentation problem, it is possible to observe the need to insert mobility in the management terminals. The mobility offer many advantages to the networks and systems administrators, presenting new challenges in this area. Based in the above description, XML and WAP came as the opportunity of the information standardization and availability, independent to the user location. Some details related to both technologies will be presented, beyond the development and the execution models to present management information in WAP devices."
