Abstract

In this paper we introduce a constrained hybridPSO algorithm, called Improved Hybrid Particles Swarm Optimi-zation (I-HPSO), in order to find feasible solutions to the problemof resource allocation in the downlink of a multi-cell WCDMAsystem. An economic model is developed that considers the utilityof the provided service, the acceptance probability of the serviceby the users and the revenue generated for the network operator.The performance of the proposed I-HPSO is compared with thoseof several other metaheuristics. The obtained results indicate thatthe proposed approach achieves superior accomplishment.
