Abstract

This paper deals with a Call Admission Control (CAC) for web browsing services in an integrated DS-CDMA system. It considers the reverse link with heterogeneous traffic generated by voice and web browsing services. Two new CAC schemes that maintain the hand-off blocking probability below a specified threshold are presented. They are named Hard Partitioning and Soft Partitioning. As far as hand-off calls are concerned the latter always gives better results than the former. Both algorithms are suitable for cellular systems in which traffic load is variable in time.
