Abstract
Delay Tolerant Networks (DTNs) do not have any infrastructure or centralized unit and they allow nodes to exchange messages without routes between them. These points are commonly explored by attackers. One of these attacks is the wormhole. It uses a pre-established infrastructure to force all routes to go through the attacker, forcing a large number of messages to go through such nodes. In this way, the attacker can intercept messages or even neutralize the network. This article presents a new method to detect wormhole attacks in DTNs, based on GPS equipped nodes. Thus, it is possible to precisely determine the integrity of the network nodes, improving the performance of previous methods.
