Abstract

This work analyzes distributed and lumped Raman amplifiers in SMF_DCF systems. Analytical formulations to estimate gain in such amplifiers is presented for the first time and are in good agreement with numerical results. Gain and noise performance of these amplifiers are obtained analyzing numerically 8 WDM signals in a counter-pumped configuration.
