Abstract

Combining a maximum a posteriori (MAP) equalizer and a D-dimensional Single-Parity Check Turbo Product Code (SPC-TPC) in a novel way, a Block Turbo Equalizer structure is proposed here. The proposed scheme has a potential for reduction in complexity, when compared to other block turbo equalizers. Simulations reveal attractive performance results. Simulations were carried out and revealed attractive results, as compared to those reported in [6]. Another feature of the proposed scheme is the opportunity of using high-rate codes in order to meet the objectives of the ever-increasing demand for spectrally efficient communication systems.
