Modelagem e Controle da Taxa de Vídeo MPEG-4 Utilizando Cascata Multifractal com Multiplicadores Autorregressivos

In this paper, we propose a multifractal model for MPEG-4 video traffic based on a multiplicative cascade. In this proposed model we model the multipliers distribution for each scale by autoregressive processes. We also verify the model performance in capturing the real traffic traces characteristics compared to other multifractal models. The model is used as input for a video traffic rate control scheme which adaptively updates the video encoder parameters. We evaluate the efficiency of the proposed scheme by comparing it with a VBR (Variable Bit Rate) scheme without rate control.
