Abstract
The Internet of Things is an essential tool for smart cities. In the context of urban buses, it allows for monitoring the performance and quality of this public service. Nevertheless, data collected in such a large sensor network is prone to inconsistencies. In this paper, we propose an algorithm that uses positional data from the buses to classify them into their specific routes and deal with possible failures in the given bus data. Based on this algorithm, a method to measure the number of buses in operation and the quality of service provided to the population can be built.
