Abstract
The combination of Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) and Multiple Input and Multiple Output (MIMO) systems is considered a promising approach for 5G mobile communication networks. However, some simulation results indicate that optimization techniques, in this case, user selection, could be applied to improve some parameters of system performance. In this context, we propose an adaptive power allocation algorithm in conjunction with user selection for the downlink of a massive NOMA MIMO system in order to maximize the users' throughput. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm, simulations were performed considering different power allocation algorithms of the users.
