Abstract

Software defined wireless sensor networks (SDWSN) were proposed to solve problems in wireless sensor networks, such as scalability, and network management and configuration. This paper evaluates data monitoring collection in SDWSN using the IT-SDN framework. Data delay and delivery rate metrics were collected from both simulations and testbed experiments using TelosB devices. Results show that the delivery rate is similar for both simulations and testbed experiments, while the delay is higher in the testbed, mainly due to the serial connection between the sensor nodes and the computers.
