Abstract

With the digitization of the digital television system the efficiency in spectrum use has been improved compared to the old analog television system. From this process, new bands have appeared to be used by other services. One of these was the liberation of the 700 MHz band of terrestrial television for use of broadband mobile communication systems and it was observed that in the UHF band destined for digital TV, parts of the spectrum that are not used by television channels. In this work field measurements were performed in the frequency band intended for the digital television system in the UHF band to determine the spectrum opportunities.
