Abstract
This article presents a novel stucture for performing a negative coupling (or electrical coupling) between two Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) cavities, since the magnetic coupling is taken as a positive coupling. This coupling consists of a vertical iris using metalized pathways dispensing with the need to make slits or slots on the surfaces of the SIW. To test the coupling, a step-by-step was developed for the elaboration of a fourthorder quasi-elliptic cross-coupling filter in the K band with center frequency of 25.2 GHz and FBW of 5.0 % exhibiting an insertion loss of approximately 1.3 dB in the passband and an attenuation bellow of -25.0 dB in the rejection band.
