Abstract
Real time video streaming applications require guarantee of delay. The expanding buffers size in routers drives the phenomenon known as bufferbloat that results in increases in delay. The development of algorithms for Active Queue Management (AQM) complements the work of congestion control of transport and application layer protocols. In this article we present a new AQM method to improve the quality as perceived by the user. Performance evaluation was done with Dynamic Adaptive Streaming Over HTTP (DASH), using real video streaming over a simulated network. Results indicate that the proposed model outperform the currently available methods.
