Energy Management in Wireless Networks from the Mobile Devices Perspective

Researches about the energy management of wireless communication systems are mostly focused on the base stations BTS side, once they are the main energy consumers of this kind of system. However, we can also save a considerable amount of energy if mobile devices could be developed in a more efficient way in terms of energy use. This work describes our efforts (experiments, measurements and analysis) in understand the aspects of energy demand in mobile devices, so that we can propose new methods for the development of energy saving or more “green” devices.
