Detecção automática de pulso cardíaco utilizando imagens de vídeo

The blood flow through the skin of an individual changes the way that light is irradiated. This pulse can be captured by a video camera allowing, by processing the acquired images, to determine the heart rate of the subject. The remote measurement of cardiac pulse provides more comfort because it avoids the use of electrodes. In this paper we introduce a new approach to heart rate detection reducing noise effects. The technique is applied to colored videos of the face, using face detection and adaptive filtering for noise reduction.
