Abstract

Internet of Things gateways are extremely important components to grant connectivity for devices with low availability of resources (processing, memory and/or energy) to middlewares on the Internet. To minimize the time and impact of their unavailability, this work presents a redundancy approach in a semantic gateway. With the developed proposal, we are able to provide a contingency solution in which a slave gateway assumes all the functions performed by the master in a little bit more than one second, ensuring high availability and improving Internet of Things networks reliability.
